Described by George Hook as the greatest Irish player never to make it and described by everyone else who knows him as a shallow, self-obsessed idiot.
His greatest ever moment was leading Castlerock College to victory as outhalf and captain of the 1999 Leinster Schools Senior Cup-winning team. After school, he confounded all the experts by never making the breakthrough, his failure to impress first Warren Gatland and later Eddie O'Sullivan often blamed on his hard-drinking, womanising lifestyle.
After a year at UCD, he worked as an estate agent, his lack of humility, conscience and basic character convincing him that he had found his true calling. Since selling his stake in Lillies Bordello nighclub in 2006, he has concentrated on what he does best - bringing pleasure to the lives of beautiful young women - and not even his marriage to Sorcha, the on-off love of his life, could halt his gallop. Which might explain why a divorce is pending.
Still, he makes no apologies for being really good-looking. He has two children, one of each – one normal and one working class. Honor (4) is his daughter from his short-lived marriage and Ronan (12) is his son by Tina, a skobie he boned while on a cultural exchange trip to the Northside. He is every boyfriend's nightmare and every girl's wettest dream come true.
